Story
The story began in 2020. After years of property renovation and carpentry, Rob finally brought his long-held ambition of building campervans to life. The opportunity came during lockdown, when he helped a friend create their first camper. That build showed how naturally his love of craftsmanship, small-space design, and travel could come together, and it laid the foundations for VansUpdated.
Build
At VansUpdated, it’s about more than building campervans — it’s about building them around each customer. Every project begins with a conversation to understand how the van will be lived in and travelled with. From there, we start with a layout that has been carefully designed and perfected over many years, a proven foundation that balances practicality, comfort, and style. This layout then becomes the canvas for customisation, adapting features, finishes, and details to reflect each client’s lifestyle.
Collaboration
Throughout the process, clients are kept closely involved at every step, ensuring the van feels truly theirs. What makes a VansUpdated van special is the collaboration, craft, and consideration in every detail — from precision carpentry to the flow of the living space. The result is a bespoke, road-ready home that blends tried-and-tested design with personal touches, ready for a life of adventure.
Founder
I’m Rob, the founder of VansUpdated.
Since 2008, I’ve been renovating properties, developing a love of carpentry, interiors, and creative design. That background taught me how to transform spaces with precision, skills I now pour into every campervan I build.
VansUpdated grew out of a simple belief: a small space, designed with care, can open the door to big adventures. I’ve always been drawn to building and the outdoors, and a campervan brings those two worlds together.
Each build starts with a question: how will this space be lived in? From there it’s about solving problems and making sure every detail earns its place and every idea works in practice as well as in theory.
I’m happiest in the workshop: surrounded by tools, timber and ideas, creating something special while dreaming of the next adventure. Every van is crafted with care, tailored to its owner’s lifestyle, and built to inspire journeys on the open road.
